DEAFKIDS: Brazilian Trio To Support Old Man Gloom On West Coast North American Tour; Metaprogramação Out Now On Neurot Recordings
Brazilian experimental/avant metal trio DEAFKIDS will return to North America in May, having announced a run of tour dates supporting Old Man Gloom.
With harsh noise and industrial elements seamlessly melded into a volatile and rambunctious hybrid of ethnic jazz/world music-influenced punk, DEAFKIDS thematically tackles existential socio-political topics and dystopian themes through their own artistic lens. Their singular sound and manic energy coalesce to form one of the most intriguing and challenging acts in recent years.
Following the release of their volatile third LP, Metaprogramação – through Neurosis’ label, Neurot Recordings – DEAFKIDS stormed across North American soil last year supporting Neurosis and Bell Witch, followed by another tour supporting Big|Brave. DEAFKIDS will now join Sad Vicious supporting experimental doom juggernaut Old Man Gloom on a West Coast tour this spring. Running from May 21st through May 27th, the trek will play through Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, Oakland, Los Angeles, and Phoenix.
"We're very excited to be back in North America, and glad to announce that we're expanding our bonds with Swamp Booking,” the band writes. “Soon we'll announce our dates in Mexico and more dates in the US. Stay tuned!”
